Weekend & Workout Round Up

Well it’s been a while since I did one of these!

Honestly, I haven’t been much in the mood to write about workouts because my IT band started bothering me again while I was at home and I have barely run at all since then. Which is super since I have a half marathon on Sunday… ha.

I’ll be writing more about my expectations for the race on Friday, but until then I’ll just let you know that my plan for now is to work on strengthening, foam rolling and not making anything worse (hopefully better), which probably means no running.

As for my actual workouts, I was really craving some heavy weight lifting, so I took a couple weeks off of the Purely Fit program and did some weights in the gym. I also went to Jazzercise a couple times while I was at home with my mom!

Here’s a look at my workouts from last week:

Monday: Shoulder weights, abs and treadmill walking

Tuesday: Chest and tricep weights and elliptical

Wednesday: Leg weights and elliptical

Thursday: OFF

Friday: Back weights and elliptical

Saturday: 20 minute full body Purely Fit Workout in my apartment & 5 min jump rope warm up

Sunday: Shoulder weights, abs and elliptical

As for this week… I have no set plan. I’m actually not really sure what my week is going to look like (I have a few things up in the air) so I don’t know what kind of time I’ll have. My “plan” is to just kind of go with the flow, maybe attempt a 2 mile run in there somewhere to see how I’m feeling, and do elliptical and weights or a purely fit workout dependent on what I have time for.

And now – on to my weekend! Which was pretty chill… Haha typical. Friday night I went to a Mixology Class for Erin’s birthday and it was a blast! We learned how to use a shaker and how to make 3 different cocktails.

Maybe I should just skip this whole lawyer thing and become a bartender? Probably not…

Saturday was very low-key. After a late night I slept in a bit, went to the gym, did some job searching, read blogs, and watched TV on my computer. I also headed over to my brother’s to pick up Neville, my goldfish (who is now 3 years and 5 months old…). I take Neville over to my brother’s while I’m in KC for an extended time so that he can be fed, but I always feel ridiculous walking down the sidewalks of Chicago with a goldfish bowl…

While I was over at their apartment, Molly decided to be adorable just for you all:

She says “you’re welcome.”

Fact: I was so overcome with indecision on which of the above photos to post to instagram, that I posted neither. Shameful.

Sunday was “To Do” List day – a lot of cleaning, a lot of food prep, and a lot of blog writing. Slowly chipped away at it and felt pretty accomplished! Glad I had a weekend to relax and get things done before traveling to Phoenix next weekend! SO EXCITED to “run” the half with Ari and Nicole!

What did you do this weekend?

What kind of workouts are your favorite right now?
