Singer’s Depravity Finally Put to an End

The lead singer of the band Lostprophets, Ian Watkins has been locked away for thirty-five years after pleading guilty to the sexual abuse of children, according to BBC News (Wales). Thirty-six year old pedophile Watkins was charged with thirteen offenses, including the attempted rape of a one year old baby. Evidence was found on Watkins’s computer that was so horrible it made anyone who saw it tremble with shock and disgust. There were appalling sexual images of children being sexually abused, including several home-made videos that Watkins filmed himself.

He used his celebrity charisma to gain the trust of his fans, specifically two young mothers, and influenced them to abuse their own children. They have also been sentenced to both seventeen years and fourteen years behind bars. The judge stated that the mothers betrayed the trust of their babies. The police detective said that Watkins showed no “scrap of remorse” and is “emotionless.” When a fan contacted the singer with a phone call he used LOL slang while talking to her. The incidents caused Judge Roger John Royce to comment that Watkins “plumbed new depths of depravity.”

In his defense Watkins blames drugs, but that excuse will not save him. One of the questions asked is how Watkins got away with such despicable degeneracy for so long. He had been on police radar since 2008, but was only arrested last year. The long delay is currently being investigated.
