Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a good week! I know we here in Chicago, and most of you all too, are having a cold a snowy week. It’s about 4 degrees here this morning – woohoo! This is the time of year I desperately wish I lived in a building with a gym so I don’t have to walk the half mile there… makes motivation difficult. Anyway, on to this week’s Thursday Thoughts!

1. The temperature has dropped considerably and the wind has picked up quite a bit here in Chicago. However, I was surprised when yesterday morning I awoke to find ice on the INSIDE of my windows. My windows all have condensation on them, but I guess it froze during the night!

2. Speaking of cold, I sent this picture to my friend in SC when I was heading out to the gym. Motivation to leave my apartment is seriously waning in this weather.

3. This is really random (although that’s the point of Thursday Thoughts, right?) but at that party on Saturday night I was standing with my friends and we discovered we were casting a serious shadow on the wall next to us. Somehow this happened. I hope you can guess what movie we’re referencing…

4. Okay, someone save me from myself. Kelsey and Erin got me hooked on Pretty Little Liars and I literally spend my entire evening watching it. I finished the first season in 4 days. Shameful.

5.GOOOOOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!! Enough said. Thank you, Siri.

6. Since I’ve been spending more time at home, I’ve gotten really tired of sitting. So I started standing at my desk, but obviously that hurt my back so I found this coffee maker that’s been sitting in my apartment and built a standing desk. I like it because it’s easy to just switch back and forth whenever I’m tired of sitting or standing. Right now, I’m standing (FYI).

7. Back to this cold thing – I am not a fan. I love being able to go on walks, even if I’m walking to run errands, and now I feel like walking anywhere is akin to being assaulted by the weather. I need to move!

8. I know I mentioned this during the summer, but for those of you who are new: have you ever heard of The Skimm? It’s an email that you sign up for and every morning they send you the news in an easy and understandable way. Takes less than 5 minutes and I feel smarter! Haha check it out!

Do you have or wish you had a standing desk?

How do you all deal with the cold temps and not being outside?
