Thursday Thoughts

AH! Can you believe it’s Thursday already? I can’t. I guess that’s what happens when you miss Monday! Since it’s Thursday, I think it’s time for another rendition of Thursday Thoughts!

1. I’ve picked out TWO Christmas trees this week, neither of which was for me! Well, one is for me to enjoy eventually. First I went with my mom on Monday and then my brother and sister-in-law last night. Like the city folk we all seem to be now, there was no tree farm involved. Just a nursery or Home Depot…

2. The weather here has been pretty dismal ever since I returned from Kansas City. Clouds and fog all around. I’ve found in the past that I’m pretty susceptible to Seasonal Affective Disorder so things are not looking up for me. Sunshine, where are you?

3. Speaking of crummy weather (although it’s been warmer?) I just wanted to curl up and watch a movie. So I decided to take myself to the movies! I went to see Book Thief since it was showing in a smaller theater in my neighborhood. I’d read the book before so I was intrigued to see the movie. It was SO GOOD. Seriously, so good. They did a wonderful job and I loved the actress who played Lisle.

4. While I was at home my mom wanted me to work on cleaning out my room (as usual) and I found this memory box that a friend and I had put together during a sleepover. The NEXT DAY I ran into her and her mom on Monday while my mom and I were grabbing lunch! She was my best friend from Kindergarten through about 6th grade and it was so nice to see her, especially since I hadn’t seen her since High School graduation!

5. So I have skeeball again tonight and we’re going out for dinner beforehand. Why, you ask? Because our match isn’t until 9:15. NINE FIFTEEN. I know, I’m getting wild with these late nights.

6. I finally figured out how to get books from the library on my Kindle!!! And of course I got like three books all at the same time. That’s just how it works, right? I just finished Defending Jacob and am about to start The Dinner by Herman Koch. I love free books.

7. I’ve decided I need to make an effort to go downtown more. I love being down near the loop but I rarely go since it’s a 40-60 minute bus ride during the morning commute. I was down there on Tuesday to volunteer and it reminded me that I need to get out of Lakeveiw and Lincoln Park every once in a while!

8. We have book club this weekend!!!! So excited, especially since it’s our holiday party! Now I just need to go find a good White Elephant gag gift… $5 limit! Right in my budget.

Have a great Thursday!

Any one else bought or decorated their Christmas tree yet? OR how are you celebrating Hanukkah tonight?!

Anyone else like getting books from the library?

What’s your bedtime?
