George Clooney Steps Back From Cutting Comments

It is no secret that there is rivalry among Hollywood’s hunks as to who is the most stylish and handsome actor. George Clooney famously dissed Leonardo DiCaprio – saying that the Titanic star talked a big game, but ended up losing a friendly basketball match to silver fox Clooney in Cabo San Lucas.

According to E! Online, Clooney was quoted as saying, the discrepancy between their game and how they talked about their game made me think of how important it is to have someone in your life tell you what’s what. I’m not sure if Leo has someone like that.” Not to be critical of George Clooney, who seemed to have been having a transcendent moment when considering Leo’s ‘big-game’ talk, but wisdom comes with age. Cut Leo some slack!

George Clooney’s publicist quickly went to clear things up, insisting that the silver haired star wasn’t just being catty with DiCaprio. “The Leo comments were all made in fun about basketball, not about Leo’s life. The writer and George were laughing and being basketball buddies.”

Clooney did mention that Russell Crowe talked poorly about him and called him and a few other A-list actors ‘sellouts.’ Clooney said, “He picked a fight with me. He started it for no reason at all.” After Crowe called Clooney a sellout, George sent him a note saying, “Dude, the only people who succeed when two famous people are fighting is People magazine. What the F—k is wrong with you?”
