Sidley Austin LLP Brings Aboard Lawyer with World Wide Experience

Sidley Austin LLP has invited a lawyer they are eager to work with, Timothy Spangler, who will work with them in Los Angeles as a partner and also as a member of Sidley’s global Investment Funds, Advisers, and Derivatives practice. As highly as he has already been lauded in his experience, and with an experience that has trotted all over the globe, Sidley is eager to find out just what this lawyer is capable of.

“Timothy is a talented lawyer whose deep knowledge and broad experience in multiple markets will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said Mike Kelly, the managing partner of Sidley’s Los Angels office. “His arrival further strengthens our capabilities in structuring and advising our investment fund and adviser clients. We welcome him to our team.”

When they welcome him to their team, they are welcoming his wide range of experience. He last served as a chair for the investment funds group at his prior firm. He’s worked worldwide, in the U.S., UK, Cayman Islands, Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Bermuda, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Germany and Ireland. Not only has he worked in a wide range of locations, but he has worked with a wide range of clients, with parties associated with funds especially, including promoters, managers, advisers, and investors. It is the flexible range of experience that makes him such a unique and valuable acquisition to Sidley.

“I was attracted to Sidley in large part due to its exceptional reputation and leading global investment funds practice,” said Mr. Spangler. “The firm’s strong international platform and continued growth and expansion makes it the ideal place to continue to grow my practice, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to provide the highest level of services to our clients.”

Joyful for the move, and eager to make a standing, Spangler wants to use his rich experience to take things to the next step with Sidley.
