Troutman Sanders Brings on Richard P. O’Leary into New York Business Litigation Practice

Troutman Sanders announced that they are expanding their product liability and commercial litigation practice by bringing on Richard P. O’Leary. O’Leary was a partner at McCarter & English LLP, with experience in commercial litigation and product liability. He has practiced for over three decades, with a broad range of cases dealing with product liability; he also has a deep knowledge and practical experience in high profile product liability litigation.

Troutman Sanders LLP is an international law firm that has more than 600 lawyers with offices throughout the US and China. Formed in 1897, the firm has engaged all aspects of civil and commercial law corresponding to the firm’s main practice areas; corporate, energy and industrial regulation, finance, litigation and real estate. In terms of business litigation practice, O’Leary has also represented manufacturers in the life sciences industry in a high profile product liability litigation capacity. He has been a local counsel and a national counsel in multi-district litigation. In that capacity he has tried more than 50 cases to verdict in federal and state courts across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania as well as Florida. He litigated a Second Circuit case, Malcolm v. National Gypsum Co., which set the standard for consolidating cases for trial for New York state and federal courts.
