Cantey Hanger Hires FTC Pro

Cantey Hanger has added a Federal Trade Commission Director as partner to their Southlake office, Deanya Kuecklelhan Cocanougher, who has specialized in federal and state consumer law for most of the last decade of her 23-years of experience in law.

“Deanya’s diverse practice background and her consumer law experience at the FTC and the Texas Attorney General’s Office will help the firm provide even more services to clients, particularly in the relatively new practice area involving consumer law and privacy rights.” said Stephen L. Tatum, Cantey Hanger Managing Partner.

Her career in law began after she received her JD from Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, and was subsequently admitted to the Texas Bar in 1990. She spent seven years at the FTC and worked as Managing Attorney twice for Texas Attorney General, also working a solo practice twice.

“Established over 130 years ago, the Cantey Hanger firm has kept pace with changing business practices. Now, Cantey Hanger adds a consumer law practice that will include compliance and enforcement representation for the benefit of its existing and new clients. I am extremely pleased to be a part of that,” Cocanougher said.

She characterizes her decision as an appreciation of Cantey Hanger, and perhaps regards it as the next step in her rich and multi-faceted career.
