Dentons Opens Energy-Focused Law Firm In Houston

The freshly formed international law firm Dentons , which was created in March of 2013 from international law firm Salans LLP, Canadian law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, and international law firm SNR Denton, is making its first big move, opening an energy-focused office in Houston. They already have over 400 clients in the oil and gas hub, and intended from the start to open an office in Houston. They have an office in Dallas, which was opened in 2007, but the new move will put them in the heart of Texas energy.

Meanwhile, rather than arriving on the scene with a full team at hand, they are sending 11 lawyers and using a recruiting firm to fill out the rest. So they will be hiring, and are looking for attorney talent that has strong energy-focus.

The move is strategic, and was intended from the start, but is a bold move into the heart of Texas energy, giving them that pivotal holding, geographically, on the U.S. energy market. As the international client is 2,600 strong, with 75 locations across over 50 countries, they are more than up to the task of swooping in and dominating the market.
