Future attorneys from Texas A&M termed “aggies” are enjoying their first weeks of classes after Texas A&M purchased Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. According to KBTX News 3, new traditions are starting at the Texas A&M University School of Law.
The New School’s colors, maroon and white are becoming a part of the downtown Fort Worth’s background. Students are taking the transition with ease as one commented, “It’s been surprisingly smooth considering how big a change it actually is.” Other students weren’t phased with the changes. A student commented, “It’s interesting to see how I reacted on suddenly being at a different university without any action on my own.”
Law school Professor Huyen Pham commented on the transition of the school, “I think it will really benefit our students, our faculty and our law school.” Alumni of the former law school are concerned about how their resume will be perceived moving forward, now that their former law school doesn’t exist anymore. One graduate of Texas Wesleyan University’s Law School, Kyle Fonville, asked, “what are we going to be able to put on our resume? So there’s a lot of questions left unanswered, but I’m sure A&M will work that out.” Another alum, David Pratt commented that this was for the absolute best. “It will give the law school a national presence that it hasn’t necessarily had before, so I think it’ll be a great thing for the community.”
