Newlywed Wife Charged with Allegedly Pushing Husband Off Cliff

This past Monday a newlywed wife has been charged with second degree murder for allegedly pushing her husband off a cliff. They two were hiking near a cliff in Glacier National Park where they had an argument only a week after they were married.

Jordan Linn Graham, 22, may face life in prison if she is convicted in the death of 25 year old Cody Lee Johnson.  Graham is currently in custody. According to Fox News, it is not clear if she had a lawyer, though she has made an initial court appearance on Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah C. Lynch.

The documents suggest that Graham was “having second thoughts about getting married around the time her husband’s body was discovered.” Graham told the FBI that the two were arguing as they walked in the Loop Trail area of the park. During their argument, Johnson grabber her arm, and she turned around and pushed him. According to the affidavit, Cody Lee Johnson fell face first off the cliff.

Johnson was reported missing when he wasn’t at work. Graham later reported that she spotted his body. Graham had initially told investigators that Cody Johnson left home with unidentified friends in a dark colored car with Washington state plates. A friend reported that he had received an email from Graham saying that Johnson went hiking and died. The next day, Graham reported to park officials that she had found Johnson’s body. She also told the ranger, “it was a place he wanted to see before he died.” The ranger thought that was a rather unusual statement and situation. Graham was interviewed and acknowledged lying about her husband’s death. Friends of the grieving family commented that Graham kept lying and changing her story. “She showed no grief and she would not speak to Cody’s mother.” The family friend Tracy Maness commented, “nobody is shocked at all,” about the situation. Currently in custody, Jordan Linn will face a trial over the death of her late husband. Cody Johnson’s family grieves over his death.
