Patrick Stewart Marries Sunny Ozell

Actor Patrick Stewart married his longtime girlfriend Sunny Ozell this weekend. Stewart, the well-known British actor who played in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the X-Men movies, 73, announced his marriage to Ozell, 35, a jazz singer and songwriter, with a playful tweet featuring the two of them buried in ball pit balls, with only their smiling faces showing. The 38-year difference wasn’t apparent.

This is Stewart’s third marriage. His second, to Wendy Neuss in 2000, ended in 2003, whereas his first was more long-standing, from 1966 to 1990, and produced two children to him and Sheila Falconer.

Stewart fist met Ozell at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2008 and has been dating her ever since. They were married by Stewart’s friend and sometimes costar Ian McKellen.

“I did my part,” said McKellen, sharing a pic with a T-shirt with the word “minister” printed on it, and showing his “Doctor of Divinity” certificate, he got in a “one-day marriage designation” from the state of Massachusetts.

“I’m going to marry Patrick” he had said, and then rephrased it, “No, no. How else do you put that? I am going to officiate his wedding.”

Not only that, McKellen will join Stewart on the big screen in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” the next installment of the X-Men saga, due in theaters May 2014.
