Henry Connick Jr. Will Join American Idol

Henry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez will join returning judge Keith Urban this seasons on American Idol. Fox finally made the announcement yesterday after rabid fans have literally gone crazy amid the media speculation. Former judge Randy Jackson will also be returning as an “in-house” mentor, according to E! Online.

Henry Connick Jr. comments that he had always been a huge fan of American Idol and he enjoyed his time as a mentor on the show. He says, “I am honored that they’ve asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to American Idol, and to help emerging performers find their way.”

This is American Idol’s 13th season. The show is an American reality-singing competition program. It started in 2002, and has grown to become one of the most successful shows on American television. For 8 consecutive years it has been ranked the number one show in the U.S. television ratings.

Henry Connick Jr. is a 45 year old American singer, songwriter, pianist and actor. He has sold over 25 millions albums worldwide, and he is ranked among the 60 best-selling male artists in the United States. The famous Emmy winner will be a popular addition to the already rocking show.
