Law Students Love their Cutting Edge Campus Building & Facilities at St. Louis University Law School

The brand new law school at St. Louis boasts so many state of the art pieces, it’s more of an art sanctuary, but it is a brand new law school building and it is opening its first semester this week. The school boasts high tech water fountains, an outdoor terrace on the 12th floor, a two level library glass walls looking out onto the nearby civil courts, and study rooms with walls that are actually dry erase boards. These are only some of the cool things that make this new law school interesting.

One student commented, “when you spend your life in the library its nice not having to wait two minutes for someone to fill up their water bottle.” The tech-savvy fountains are high speed dispensers and are apparently a big hit with the student body according to St. Louis Today.

The former building was an ugly duckling that administrators and staff felt disappointed with. The 1960s era building had to be retrofitted and transformed into an academic space. The former dean complained about it, and there were plenty of critics who saw no potential in the ugly building. When it was realized that the old structure was designed to accommodate two more additional floors, planners built upward. The new building is in trendy downtown overlooking the St. Louis Arch.

As of now, walls are made of glass, and the classrooms and staircases are flooded with “natural light.” Saving the best for last, multi level stadium seats are gone, to have larger outward extended classrooms that allow for professors to give eye contact to all students, not just ones in certain seats. Projectors are also added, to make sure all students can read the small handwriting on the board.

The students love their new school’s home, and the St. Louis University Law School boasts one of the coolest campuses.
