School’s OUT Running Playlist

Hey everyone! I’m on my way to Kansas City today!!! YAY! So excited since I haven’t been home since March!

If any of you follow me on Daily Mile, you can see that I didn’t do much running this summer. Like, a 5K sounds rough to me right now. Here’s a look at my weekly mileage May through the beginning of August this year:

womp womp…

For some reason I just wasn’t feeling running this summer. I’ve learned that for me to run without injuries, I need to spend plenty of time stretching and foam rolling and I just did not have the patience for that on top of studying. So I spent my time walking on the treadmill, on the elliptical, and lifting weights.

Since the Bar ended, however, I’ve gotten a sudden passion for running again, so I’m going with it! No races in my future other than Pretty Muddy (which is just for FUN so you should come join us!) so I’m just going by feeling now and enjoying my time on the road.

I’ve also starting going on long (4+ mile) walks like I used to in college and I forgot how much I love doing that! When I walk I usually listen to an audiobook or a podcast. I’ve been catching up on all the Jillian Michaels podcasts that I missed over the past several months.

When I run, however, I LOVE listening to upbeat music. It really helps me pick up my speed and enjoy the run even more. Last week, when I really started running more, I decided to make a new running playlist and I wanted to share it with you all. Since August means school is done for me instead of starting, I thought I’d call this my “School’s Out Running Playlist.” Enjoy!

What’s your favorite running song right now?

Are you training for a race or running for fun?

Anyone else like super long walks too?

And yes, I spelled “blurred” wrong. Too lazy to fix it. 🙂

I'm originally from Kansas City, MO and I did my undergrad at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
