Simon Cowell Accused of Home Wrecking, Impregnating Friend’s Wife

Nevermind the rumors that Simon Cowell committed adultery with his best friend’s wife. Simon Cowell’s lawyer made it clear that such talk was absolutely untrue, and it would even be illegal to say it.

“Any implication or statement that my client is engaged in adultery and has allegedly broken up the marriage of Ms. Silverman is not only false but reckless,” said Martin Singer to the New York Post at the time. And would a lawyer lie?

He also called it “false and defamatory” to suggest that Simon’s relationship with Silverman “has become more serious such that she is now getting a divorce so that Simon and she can be together.”

But in fact his friend has said not only did Simon commit adultery with his wife, leading to their divorce, but that he impregnated her. The friend, Andrew Silverman, is seeking to divorce Lauren Silverman, as TMZ reported, with divorce papers reading that, “The nature of this action is: to dissolve the marriage between the parties based upon (1) the commission of acts of adultery by the defendant and (2) defendant’s cruel and inhuman treatment of the plaintiff.”

A source told People that Lauren Silverman was “definitely unhappy” with her marriage, and that there was more than just Cowell to make her want to leave her husband. Yes, but isn’t that always the case? Meanwhile, the rumors were true, despite the lawyer brandishing such words as “defamatory” and “reckless.”
