John Charles Villers-Farrow, the brother of actress Mia Farrow was arrested last year in November on charges of sexually abusing two boys. The charges included second and third degree sex offense, perverted practice (two counts), second degree child abuse (two counts), sex abuse of a minor (two counts) and second degree assault. On Friday, he pleaded guilty by making an Alford plea that allows him to maintain innocence while admitting that there is sufficient evidence in the hands of prosecutors to convict him on the charges.
After receiving the plea, Judge Laura S. Kiessling in the county Circuit Court in Annapolis immediately revoked Villers-Farrows’ bond and he is to stay in jail until sentencing. Under the plea deal, the state has agreed to cap his sentence to two concurrent 10-year sentences.
Villers-Farrow, 66, seemed positively exasperated with the entire affair and told the court that he entered the plea as it was the quickest way for him to serve time and get back home. His wife, Sandra Hall, seemed disgusted with the accusers and said she fully supported her husband and that the alleged victims were “vipers” reported capitalgazette.
According to court documents and submissions of the prosecution, it appears the first victim moved into the neighborhood of Villers-Farrow near about the age of 6 years and befriended the son of Villers-Farrow, who was a few years younger than the victim. The victim became acquainted with the family of the accused.
Prosecutors mentioned that the boy started spending most of his free time at the home of Villers-Farrow, and Villers-Farrow would treat him to activities like baseball games, sailing on a boat, and give him gifts which otherwise the victim couldn’t have afforded. The abuse started when the boy reached 9 years of age and continued until the boy was 16.
According to the prosecution the boy, first victim, was abused on an average of two to three times every week. The victim could not give an exact count of the number of time he had been abused but claimed it could be up to 100 times.
During the same time period, Villers-Farrow started abusing one of the friends of the first victim, who was also from the neighborhood. That boy reported being abused about a dozen times over a five-year period.
The abuse became known when one of the victims’ mothers became suspicious and questioned them about what was going on.
