Arent Fox Announces New Partners

Arent Fox announces new incoming partners. The prestigious firm is expanding its nationally recognized practice and is adding real estate finance partner David M. Martin to its Washington D.C-based Real Estate practice, as well as counsel Patrick A. Nickler. Martin re-joins the firm with more than 20 years beneath his belt. His focus will be on commercial real estate finance, acquisition and disposition transactions, corporate and banking mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial lending, and real estate restructuring. Mr. Martin has experience in real estate, finance, banking, M&A, corporate governance and compliance.

Chairman Mark M. Katz commented on David Martin’s re-joining. “David is one of the country’s leading real estate finance lawyers. His insight and first rate practice will be a great addition to the firm’s robust real estate, finance, joint venture, and transactional capabilities.”

New addition Patrick Nickler’s practice focuses on real estate finance, loan workouts, restructurings, and real estate acquisition and development. He represents national and regional banks, finance companies, and real estate developers in acquisitions and dispositions and all aspects of secured and unsecured financings, according to a statement by Arent Fox.

Joining the New York Office’s Complex Litigation practice is an addition of leading litigators and arbitration partners. Arent Fox welcomes to its Complex Litigation practice Howard Graff, Nikol Gruning Thompson and associate Courtney E. Topic. The team of three are from Dickstein Shapiro. There Mr. Graff was the co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation practice and was previously the New York managing partner. According to Michael Blass, a New York Managing partner for the firm, “Howard Graff is one of the nation’s top litigators. His first rate legal skills will be a great addition to the New York office and to the firm’s litigation, arbitration, and real estate capabilities.”

Nikol Gruning Thompson focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She often appears before federal and state courts and in domestic and international arbitration. Complex Litigation practice leader Stephen G. Larson commented, “Howard and Nikol are great additions to our already strong litigation and international arbitration abilities.”
