Star Jenny McCarthy Will be a New Co-Host of “The View”

Star Jenny McCarthy will be a new co-host of “The View.”  Barbara Walters made the announcement at the opening of the show. Jenny McCarthy commented on her new host gig. “I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Barbara and the other amazing women at the table.” Jenny McCarthy has been a guest host of “The View” a few times already. It has been reported that Jenny has been talking with the show and getting ready for the offer.

Co-star Sherri Shepherd commented, “Jenny McCarthy is fearless, she’s amazing, she’ll cause some stuff, so I’m excited about her.” Elizabeth Hasselbeck is leaving “The View,” and Shepherd said that she was sad that she wasn’t going to be able to meet her on her co-host’s last day. In two brief words, she expressed her feelings on her co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s move, and her new host Jenny McCarthy’s entrance, “Tears. Yay!”

Jenny McCarthy is a model, actress, author and activist. She started her career in 1993 with a nude Playboy pose and was named Playmate of the year. She launched her television and film career after her Playboy days. Recently she has become an activist mom, writing books on parenting and promoting research for treatments for autism. She publicly agrees with the claim that vaccines cause autism. Jenny McCarthy guest hosted “The View” eight times, and according to the Huffington Post, her appointment isn’t without criticism regarding her controversial views on the connection between vaccinations and autism.

Jenny McCarthy will make her debut September 9, at the start of the 17th season of the show. Joy Behar will also be leaving the show and is preparing for her move. Many speculate on who will replace Joy Behar. According to the NY Daily News, among the rumored contenders for the open spot on “The View” are former reality TV star and outspoken conservative Rachel Campos-Duffy; singer Gloria Estefan, film actress Brooke Shields, and outspoken comedian Kathy Griffin.
