David Wicklund Joins Vinson & Elkins as Partner

New partner David Wicklund has experience representing private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies and other public and private issuers and borrowers, both investment grade and non-investment grade, in connection with domestic and cross-border bank financings and bond offerings, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Chambers USA 2013 commented that the Vinson & Elkins Finance Practice Group is “‘[r]espected for its presence in energy finance and this group demonstrates strong capabilities on a wide range of financial transactions. That range includes syndicated commercial bank financings, asset- and reserve-based financings, project financings, structured financings, acquisition financings, private placements, capital market debt offerings, mezzanine and second lien loans and restructurings of all types.”

David Wicklund graduated from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, in 2003. His experience includes representing major corporations in their bond offerings as well as bank credit facilities. Mr. Wicklund has joined V&E from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. His experience there was in representing top-tier equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on acquisition credit facilities and high yield offerings.

Scott Wulfe, a Vinson & Elkins managing partner offered his comments. He felt that new partner David would add a lot of value to the broad client base. “David has a reputation for being able to deliver outstanding legal advice. His skill set is a great fit with the firm’s strategic goals to grow our New York office and provide exceptional client service.”
