Professor William Brewbaker Named Acting Dean of University of Alabama School of Law

The University of Alabama’s School of Law gives a small introduction to the new acting dean. His short bio, available on the School of Law’s website says, “William Brewbaker joined the faculty in 1993 after practicing law in Birmingham, Alabama. He is the current William Alfred Rose Professor of Law and teaches classes on health care law, health care liability and property and jurisprudence.“

A university spokeswoman said current law professor Brewbaker would fill the position until an interim dean was chosen, according to AllAlabama.com. William Brewbaker will temporarily fill in for former dean Ken Randall, who confirmed his retirement from law school Thursday night. Former dean Randall had a twenty year tenure at the University of Alabama’s school of Law. He feels he is leaving the school without any problems whatsoever. He has full confidence that he is leaving the school’s administration in good hands and he trusts that the school will find a ready and apt replacement, according to AL.com.

Former dean Ken Randall commented, “”I told the University about the move, and it was announced a little bit on the later side,” Randall said. “I’ve been really contemplating this for a while. I love the University, but I was really ready for the next challenge.”
