Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Settle Their Divorce without Trial

I see no reason why anybody should take Kim Kardashian’s wedding seriously, so its unsurprising divorce 72 days later is even less relevant. She married NBA basketball player Kris Humphries on her show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” What this marriage was supposed to mean or do, other than boost ratings, is unclear, but Humphries, for his part, naturally wanted an annulment to clear himself of the whole thing, citing irreconcilable differences when filing for divorce, and claiming Kardashian had no intention of staying married when she incorporated the ceremony into her show. Whatever the case – who really knows or cares? – they have settled things without a trial, as all wise celebrities will do: according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court spokesperson on Friday, they have reached a settlement that Judge Hank Goldberg approved of.

The terms of the divorce have not been disclosed, but since the marriage itself was a sort of publicity stunt, we would not expect the terms to be too steep. Kardashian, 32, became a twice divorcee thereafter – four years with Damon Thomas was her first, separating in 2004 – and now she is onto being pregnant by rapper Kanye West – or at least that’s her story. Kardashian was present at the hearing, but Humphries was absent, according to Reuters.
