Ogletree Deakins Launches its 44th Office

On Wednesday, labor & employment law firm Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart announced the launch of its 44th office, in Richmond Virginia. The 650-lawyer law firm has two headquarters in Atlanta and Greenville, South Carolina, respectively.

Three new lawyers were hired by the firm for the opening of its Richmond office. Jimmy Robinson from Troutman Sanders was hired as office managing partner, while Elizabeth Ebanks joined as partner and Tevis Marshall as of counsel.

Kim Ebert, managing partner of Ogletree Deakins said, “Richmond has long been an attractive market for Ogletree Deakins, as we have a number of clients with a significant presence in Virginia … We are confident that we have found the right team of attorneys to guide our entry into the market. Jimmy’s entrepreneurial mindset mirrors the firm’s core values and his connections in the Richmond legal community will help the office to prosper quickly.”

Speaking on the occasion Robinson said, “I am excited to open the Richmond office with two accomplished and outstanding attorneys who will offer expanded value for the firm’s clients that have a presence in Virginia.”

Robinson represents employers in federal and state employment litigation matters including cases involving discrimination or wrongful discharge and related issues.

Robinson was selected as a Virginia Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Employment & Labor Law (2007-2012). He is also a former president of the Virginia State Bar, Young Lawyers Division. A man both elegant and erudite, Robinson was chosen within the “Top 40 Under 40” for 2012 in Richmond Style Weekly.

Ebanks, who joined as a partner and focuses in employment litigation and counselling, said “With a platform of 44 offices across the country, Ogletree Deakins is obviously a firm that is focused on growth … I look forward to joining their team of talented attorneys.”
