Bingham McCutchen Opens $22.5 Million Office In Lexington and Looking to Hire

Kentucky is excited about the new Bingham McCutchen office that is opening in Coldstream Research Park in Lexington. The new center for consolidated operations will be a nerve center for the Boston-based firm’s 14 offices globe-wide, and it will be transferring only 10 percent of its employees from other Bingham locations, meaning that of the 250 jobs that are expected to average $37 an hour, with benefits, many could be hired in from the Central Kentucky area. The office is opening with 100 employees and will hire the rest later.

“It is an exciting day for us in Kentucky,” said Gov. Steve Beshear, as reported by Kentucky.com. “This is going to be a great fit.” He might have added that it could help out lawyers in the Kentucky area as well.

“Today’s grand opening truly is a critical part of Bingham’s tomorrow,” said Bingham Chairman Jay Zimmerman, speaking Thursday at the new facility. “This is a place that welcomes businesses that want to be here for the long haul.” The new office cost $22.5 million to create. He also took a moment to lead the firm in a moment of silence for those killed and injured in the Boston Marathon earlier this week.
