Mayer Brown Adds Stephen Baskin

The law firm of Mayer Brown has announced via a press release that Stephen Baskin has joined the firm in its office in Washington, DC. Baskin joins as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. Brown joins the firm from Kilpatrick Townsend, where he was the managing partner of the firm’s office in DC.

“Steve is a highly-regarded patent litigator with a well-established reputation for handling complex cases, and his proven managerial talents will further strengthen our patent litigation capabilities in Washington, DC and beyond,” said Alan Grimaldi, co-leader of the firm’s global Intellectual Property practice.

“Our practice has grown dramatically in recent years, particularly in the technology and life sciences industries, through the addition of leading lawyers, such as Steve, who have the requisite technical expertise to meet our clients’ needs,” said John Mancini, co-leader of the firm’s global Intellectual Property practice.

Baskin has experience representing software and technology companies and financial services in litigation. He has worked on cases enforcing trade secrets and non-competition agreements.

“Mayer Brown’s strong reputation for handling high-level patent litigations, combined with its top-notch talent, global platform and capabilities in a broad range of practice areas, was especially appealing to me,” Baskin said.

Baskin earned his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a BS from Ohio University.
