Chris Brown Blames Crash on Paparazzi; Plans to Sue

On Saturday, Chris Brown was involved in a car accident that included just his vehicle, which was totaled when he hit a wall, according to TMZ. Brown has said that he crashed his vehicle while trying to get away from paparazzi, who are denying they caused the accident.

A statement was released by Brown’s representative saying that the singer was cut off by two photographers and said the accident was a result of “aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi.” The owner of INF, the agency that had the photographers at the scene of the crash, spoke with TMZ. Chris Doherty said that he believes his photographers “had nothing to do with Chris Brown crashing.”

Doherty told TMZ that he photographers arrived after the accident occurred, saying, “No photographers were following him at the time he crashed … He crashed his car and it’s convenient for him to blame us. He needs to be careful with his defamatory statements.”

He went on to say that his employees were interviewed by police who “appeared to be satisfied” that they did not cause the accident. A press release was issued by the Beverly Hills Police Department that stated the following:

“On February 9, 2013 at approximately 1203pm, entertainer Chris Brown was involved in a solo, non-injury traffic collision in the 600 Block Bedford Drive/Camden Drive alley. Mr. Brown was the driver of the vehicle and collided with a wall. Brown stated that he was being chased by paparazzi causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Brown’s Black Porsche was towed from the scene at his request.”

Brown’s representative told TMZ on Sunday that Brown will be filing a lawsuit against the photographers who he claimed caused the accident. Brown still is not sold on the fact that they did not cause him to crash his car. The representative told TMZ, “We plan on seeking criminal charges and holding them civilly liable.”
