Schulte Roth & Zabel Recruits Top Litigators Barry Bohrer and Lisa Prager

On Thursday, Schulte, Roth & Zabel announced the addition of two leading litigators, Barry A. Bohrer and Lisa A. Prager as partners to the law firm. Lara Covington joined the firm as special counsel in the litigation practice. The group left boutique law firm Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer.

Bohrer is one of the most famous white collar defense attorneys in New York. He was on the defense team of media mogul Martha Stewart in her 2004 trial, and is also currently representing former Dewey & LeBoeuf chairman Steven Davis.

With the addition of this group from Morvillo, Schulte Roth’s 100-person litigation and enforcement team would become much stronger.

Alan S. Waldenberg, chair of Schulte Roth’s executive committee said, “We are very excited to welcome this outstanding group of lawyers to the firm … Expansion of the firm’s litigation and enforcement practice continues to be a key strategy for the firm in response to the increased needs of our clients and today’s regulatory climate.”

Commenting on joining the firm, Bohrer said, “We are delighted at the prospect of joining a firm of such depth, breadth and resources. We look forward to joining old friends, with new platforms for our practices and new challenges to meet on behalf of clients.”

While Bohrer is known for his focus on white collar defense, Lisa Prager focuses on government investigations and enforcement actions relating to the FCPA, U.S. export controls and economic sanctions laws, anti-money laundering laws, the Dodd-Frank Act’s whistleblower provisions and government contracts matters.

Lara Covington, who has joined as special counsel, has extensive experience in handling FCPA investigations on behalf of multinational corporations and has experience in investigations in countries like China, India, Poland, Nigeria, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. She also creates and oversees anti-corruption compliance programs.
