Jodi Arias Trial Continues with Graphic Photos, Video and Audio Tapes

The Jodi Arias trial continued on Monday and it included nude photos of the defendant for the jury to see. A video was also played in court that said Arias would ask for the death penalty if she killed Travis Alexander.

“If I am found guilty, I won’t have a life … If I killed Travis, I would beg for the death penalty,” Arias told Esteban Flores, a Mesa, Ariz., police detective. The interview took place on July 15, 2008.

Also on Monday, photos of Arias’ breasts were shown to the court along with photos of her genitalia and nude photos of Alexander naked while lying in bed. Arias continues to deny that she killed Alexander, despite being told by a detective that there are nude photos of the couple together the day he died.

“Are you sure it’s me? Because I was not there,” Arias said during interrogation. Detective Esteban Flores told Arias that in the photos she has pigtails, which Arias responds with, “Pigtails?”

Arias told Flores, “I would not hurt Travis. I would not hurt Travis. I would not do that to him.”

“Jodi, this is over. … you have to tell me the truth,” Flores says. Flores cited the motive for the murder as jealousy, and even mentions the opinion of Alexander’s friends.

“They don’t just say you were jealous. You were absolutely obsessed… a fatal attraction,” Flores said on the interrogation tape.

Arias is 32 now and has since admitted to killing Alexander following their relationship back in 2008. She does claim that it was in self-defense. Arias has been accused of stabbing Alexander 27 times in the chest, back, and head. She also is accused of slashing his throat from ear to ear while also shooting him with a .25 caliber handgun.

If she is convicted, Arias could face the death penalty. The tape of the interrogation was played for the jury after they viewed the nude photos of the couple that were found on the digital card of Alexander’s camera.

According to prosecutors, Arias drove to Alexander’s home early in the morning of June 4, 2008. The couple had sex in the afternoon, took photos of each other, and then Alexander was killed by Arias close to 5:30 p.m. The date on the camera shows that the photos from the bed were taken around 1:45 p.m. The photos from the shower and a bloody body part were taken around 5:30 p.m.

During interrogation, Arias told officers that she never saw a .25 caliber handgun and did not know her grandparents owned one until it was reported stolen one week ahead of Alexander’s murder.

“The gun that was stolen, a .25 auto, just happens to be the same caliber used to kill him,” Flores said.

“A .25 was used to kill him?” she asked.

“Jodi, we’re just playing games here,” Esteban replied.

“I didn’t even know there were guns until my grandparents reported them stolen the day their house was broken into,” Arias said.
