15-Year-Old Mentally-Challenged Girl Gang-Raped During Science Class, While Teacher Does Nothing

A 15-year-old mentally challenged girl, with an IQ of 60, after months of being bullied by boys at her school, was raped by two of them during science class under her desk while the teacher did nothing to intervene. The girl was sexually assaulted and “orally sodomized” and when she struggled to resist them, they “hit her on the head whenever she tried to escape.” One of the students even danced on her desk, so it is unclear why the teacher did not respond.

The school, Martin de Porres Academy, did however fire the teacher. The girl, identified as K.J. in the media, was the only girl amidst 13 boys. Many of them were known to have “violent propensities” and are residents of De La Salle, a juvenile delinquent’s home.

K.J.’s mother was unable to get her transferred, though her daughter was bullied for months. School officials did respond in December by putting her in a room with one of the boys who had been sexually harassing her and told them to “discuss their issues.” After this final incident, though the girl reported the incident to her guidance counselor the next day, the school failed to report the crime.

Martin De Porres executive director Edward Dana said in a statement that “As soon as we learned about the allegations, we conducted an internal investigation. As a result of our investigation, the teacher was fired.”

Meanwhile, they worked “with detectives from Nassau County who advised us that no charged would be filed against the alleged assailants.”

The mother has filed a lawsuit Friday.

“It’s mind-boggling how this could happen,” said attorney Madeline Bryer to the New York Post.

“We want the community to know that we hold our teachers to a high standard. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of the children in our care,” claimed Dana.
