Beirne, Maynard & Parsons Acquires Lemle & Kelleher

In a press release from the law firm of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, L.L.P., the firm announced that it has merged with the law firm of Lemle & Kelleher, L.L.P. Beirne, Maynard & Parsons is based in Houston and focuses on civil litigation. Lemle & Kelleher is based in Louisiana.

The merger increases the presence of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons in the Gulf Coast while also expanding its abilities in commercial transactions, securities, and white-collar defense while enhancing its strong litigation practice, specifically in the areas of energy, environmental, employment, commercial, bankruptcy, transportation, and maritime law.

Brit T. Brown, the managing partner for Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, said, “This is a very exciting time for our two firms and for our clients. We have combined skilled litigation and commercial transaction attorneys while strengthening our international reach and presence along the Gulf Coast.”

Brown noted that the firm has multiple client relationships along the Gulf Coast, which is what required the firm to find a way to increase its presence in the area. Lemle & Kelleher is based in New Orleans, but also has an office in Baton Rouge. The firm is one of the oldest major law firms in the state of Louisiana, dating back to the 19th century.

“We are pleased to be joining with a leading firm, recognized for its expertise, depth of resources, and high standard client service,” Benjamin R.Slater, III, the managing partner of the New Orleans office, said. “It is an important strategic step for both firms, and our attorneys bring an added dimension to Beirne, Maynard & Parsons’ existing capabilities.”

There are offices for Beirne, Maynard & Parsons in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge. The office in New Orleans will be headed by Slater, who will be the office’s Managing Partner.

“We’re fortunate to continue growing into new markets, such as San Antonio and now New Orleans, with seasoned and talented attorneys able to offer experienced legal counsel to our clients,” Martin D. Beirne, the Chairman of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, said in a statement. “We expect significant and purposeful growth for the firm in the near future.”

Beirne said he expects that attorneys will be added through the year and said that the firm has been contacted by other firms in the region to expand their abilities as well. Beirne noted that the firm has been exploring options to expand not only in Texas, but also in other regions along the Gulf Coast. The firm continues to expand its presence in Mexico and other countries across the globe.
