Ke$ha Claims She was Forced to Sing Lyrics to “Die Young”

Singer Ke$ha has come out and said that she did not want to sing the lyrics, which are incredibly controversial, in the song “Die Young.” She makes these claims despite being listed as a writer of the song, according to TMZ.

Hundreds of radio stations across the country have removed the song from their rotation in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last Friday that took the lives of 20 children and six adults.

In a tweet from Ke$ha, she said that she understand now why the song is so very inappropriate. Her tweet reads as follows, “I had my very own issues with “die young” for this reason.  I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO.”

Some of the lyrics from the song include the following: “Let’s make the most of the night like we’re gonna die young.  We’re gonna die young.  We’re gonna die young.”

Following the shooting, quite a few people criticized the singer on Twitter for the song and for its lyrics. On the song, Ke$ha is named as a co-writer of the song with Dr. Luke and some other people. She has yet to explain why she was ‘forced’ to sing the lyrics.
