There hasn’t yet been any official confirmation of the story from the New Mexico police, but, according to the Toronto Star, one man on the list of the hit men was identified as “J.B.,” who “has a measure of fame.” Lt. Robert McDonald of the New Mexico State Police has told the Toronto Star that “J.B” was Bieber.
These 2012 avatars of Dumb & Dumber are an uncle-nephew pair hired by an obsessed fan of Bieber. The fan, Dana Martin, who is serving life for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl, has reportedly written letters to Bieber and has a tattoo of the singer on his leg. He met the uncle, Mark Aaron Staake, 41, after being transferred to the Southern New Mexico Corrections Facility in April.
Martin convinced Staake that he has huge sums of money stashed away, and a multimillion-dollar building where Staake and his nephew could hide out. He told the pair that his connections from Chinese gangs in New York had “sanctioned” the murder and castration of four persons including J.B.
The affidavit submitted by the New Mexico State police on Wednesday for obtaining arrest warrant of the duo mention that the going rate offered for each testicle was $2500 only.
Other conditions of the contract included that the murders had to be committed by strangulation with a paisley neck tie, and the castration needed to be done with Fiskar’s “Durasharp” brand garden clippers.
After Staake was released on probation on Oct 22, he and his nephew began organizing the execution of Martin’s contract. However, Martin lost nerve, and on November 20, he spoke to the police of his own accord about the conspiracy.
Though reasons for Martin cooperating with the police is yet not known, a phone by Ruane, the nephew of Staake, to Martin on Nov 19, hints at things going wrong. Apparently, on Nov 19, while trying to cross the border to Canada, Staake was arrested by a U.S. border agent on a New Mexico warrant that was overdue.
Later in the day, Ruane rang up Martin, and the recorded conversation shows Ruane saying he can’t do the job without Staake, because Staake was to “handle the whole putting down of the ‘dogs’ and I (Ruane) was going to ‘snip, snip.’”
But the ‘snip, snip’ plans were vexed with the New York State Police arresting Ruane on Nov. 26.
