Yates, McLamb & Weyher Partner Elected to Third Term as Treasurer of North Carolina Group

The law firm of Yates, McLamb & Weyher, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, announced via a press release on Tuesday that one of the firm’s partners, Jason Newton, is going to serve as the treasurer for the North Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Hospital Risk Mangers for a third term. Newton’s first term came in 2008, when he was elected for two years. He was elected for a second term in 2010 and a third term in 2012. There are 300 active members in the North Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Hospital Risk Managers.

Newton graduated with his law degree from the Wake University School of Law. His practice is centered on medical malpractice defense and medical board issues. The majority of his practice includes defending healthcare providers involved in cases of catastrophic injury.

Yates, McLamb & Weyher was founded in 1983 and its lawyers represent defendants in cases of civil litigation in the areas of general liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, products liability, construction litigation, auto negligence and insurance coverage. The firm was founded by Dan J. McLamb and Barbara B. Weyher and it employs 30 lawyers. The firm was founded on the principles of caring for clients’ needs and interests along with civility and professionalism in law.

Jim Vassallo: Jim is a freelance writer based out of the suburbs of Philadelphia in New Jersey. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year. He also covered the football, baseball, softball and both basketball teams for the school newspaper 'The Whit.' Jim lives in New Jersey with his wife Nicole, son Tony and dog Phoebe.
