Kate Middleton Preggers!

When a young couple marries, friends and relatives often opine and gossip about the possibility of that bumpy belly being pregnant. When you’re royalty, such gossip is an institution. That’s why we’ve heard so much speculation about the Duchess of Cambridge’s midsection lately. Kate has been making her toasts with water — mighty suspicious — and she turned down some peanut butter paste at a UNICEF event, and everybody knows that savvy mothers avoid peanut butter to prevent their baby to be from having a peanut allergy. Which such obvious tell tale signs, it seemed almost redundant when the couple confirmed Kate’s new blessed state:

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.

The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum [a “very acute morning sickness, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients”]. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.

This will be Queen Elizabeth II’s third great-grandchild and Prince Harry’s first niece or nephew.

It seems inevitable, anyway, that a young couple with a sexual relationship and hopes for children would in fact get pregnant. It is somehow neat, nevertheless, when royalty gets pregnant.
