My Christmas List

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week back after the Thanksgiving break! My week has been a bit off, I think I’m just homesick and so ready to get back for Christmas. If we could just fast forward to December 22nd I would be appreciate it, okay? Good.

So every year my mom asks all of us for a Christmas List. She worries about just buying us things that we didn’t ask for, and then having us not like them, so she asks for a very specific list. I finally managed to get mine out to her on Wednesday (it took a lot of research and soul-searching! ha), so I thought I’d share it with all of you so you could get some ideas. (And no, my mom will not be getting me everythign on the list… haha that would be a bit much).

My Christmas List:

1. Convertible Running Gloves/Mittens

When I’m running in the winter my fingers get numb FAST when I’m wearing gloves, so mittens are best to keep them warm. However, they make it impossible to do anything, especially opening a fuel package or messing with my phone. I thought these gloves would be perfect to keep my fingers warm and allow me to use my fingers when necessary.

2. Compression Socks:

I have two pairs of compression sleeves that I found very helpful to keep my calves loser when I’m running long distances. I wanted to give the socks a try as well! Obviously I asked for pink…

3. Running socks.

I used to do my laundry when I ran out of running shorts. Now I do it when I run out of socks. I NEED MORE SOCKS. You can never have enough. And good running socks are expensive! Tons of brands make them, but I took this picture when I was at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Kansas City to give my mom an idea of what to look for.

4. Lululemon Gift Card

Need I say more? I own nothing from Lululemon but I would LOVE to!

5. Warm hat with pony tail hole

I have a hat that I’ve worn before (I also wear an ear band, but when it gets really cold a hat is better!), but I want one with a pony tail hole! Otherwise I put my hair up in a bun under the hat and I just look silly…

6. Faded Days Sunglasses (powdered green)

Okay, okay, these have nothing to do with running! But nevertheless they are on my Christmas list (and other than books they are the only non-running related item on my list… hmmm) and I really want them! I don’t buy expensive sunglasses because I always manage to break or lose them, so I thought these would be fun! I saw them first on Julie’s blog, Peanut Butter Fingers!

There are also a lot of great ideas that you might want to ask for, or get for your friends. They just aren’t on my list because I already have them!

Other Good Ideas for Fitness Enthusiasts:

1. Foam Roller

A foam roller is a necessity for all runners, and is great for other kinds of athletes as well. I recommend a high density one, and I’ve also heard ones with knobs and textures are great too! If you search around Amazon you can find some pretty inexpensive ones.

2. Yoga Mat

Another great tool for injury prevention, or for someone who’s just been looking to get into yoga! I have my own mat and I highly recommend getting one, it makes it so much easier, especially if you happen to go to a studio without extras!

3. Workout Videos

These come in really handy when you just don’t have time to make it to the gym! I have these two (above) by Jillian Michaels, but there are many out there! I’ve been thinking about getting a Zumba one!

4. Garmin

So this is a little expensive… but you’ve got the means and someone who’d really like one, a garmin is great for a runner! I have the 305, which I love because I can see my pace, time and distance all on one screen. Also it may look bulky, but I never notice that it’s there! If you’re looking for something smaller or less expensive, they have a lot of options!

5. Headphones

Personally, my headphones are ALWAYS breaking, so they are something that I need all the time. And they’re a great stocking stuffer or more inexpensive gift for friends.

What are you asking for on your Christmas (or Hanukkah) List?

What do you have to run out of before you do your laundry?
