TSA Earns Congressman’s Ire after Exposing his Grand-Niece’s Breasts

We all know the TSA goes too far. Who hasn’t heard a story about some elderly man having his walker probed for explosives or some “suspicious looking” teen invasively searched? When it happens to the relative of a politician, they finally get put in their place. Or that’s the hope. Texas House of Representative Ralph Hall’s grandniece was given an intense pat down in which her sundress snapped open, exposing her breasts to other travelers. The 17-year-old, who was going to Australia with fellow students of Southwest Christian School, was mollified, and her Grand Uncle is livid.

This happened two years ago but is only coming to light now. Hall has sought to have the TSA agent responsible for the embarrassment canned, but Hartsfield-Jackson Airport of Atlanta Georgia says it was an accident, and merely made the agent apologize and get more training.

“We regret that the incident of more than two years ago was one that caused embarrassment to the young lady; however, an investigation concluded that the event was accidental.” Nothing like an apology that minimizes its own faults (“two years ago”)!

The TSA insists they have a strict process for pat downs. Nevertheless, their hypervigiliance has created an atmosphere and paranoia around airports, making travelling a trial rather than a holiday for many people, especially a person who happens to look “suspicious” to security.
