Fire Trump Petition Sent to Macy’s

Macy’s is being asked by over 350,000 people who have signed a petition to fire Donald Trump as one of their spokespeople. The petition has acquired over 350,495 signatures as of Tuesday and it mentions Trumps “sexist behavior” and his denial of the changing climate as reasons why the company needs to fire the real estate mogul.

The petition goes on to say that Trump perpetuated the “racially charged birther conspiracy.” That conspiracy claimed that President Barack Obama provided a false birth certificate. Trumpo has vowed to donate $5 million to the President’s charity of choice if he provides the public with his passport application and his college transcripts.

One of the newer holiday television ads from Macy’s features Trump and Kris Kringle from the movie “Miracle on 34th Street.” Trump takes on the role of the skeptic from the film and pulls on Santa Claus’ beard to see if he is real. The ad makes a play on the conspiracy theorist behavior of Trump. The chief marketing officer for Macy’s, Martine Reardon, said that Trump “always the one who delivers the one-liners” in an interview with the New York Times.

Earlier in November, Trump told Businessweek, “The fact is that there’s a large group of people who like Donald Trump and what Donald Trump says.”
