While announcing the organization’s choice for the award at a press conference, the HFPA president Dr. Aida Takla O’Reilly said, “Jodie is a multifaceted woman that has achieved immeasurable amounts of success and will continue to do so in her career. Her ambition, exuberance, and grace have helped pave the way for budding artists in this business. She’s truly one of a kind.”
Foster has won the Golden Globe twice, as best actress in a motion-picture in 1989 for The Accused and then again in 1992 for The Silence of the Lambs. The actress began her career at the age of three, appearing in a television commercial as the Coppertone Girl. She made her feature debut at the age of eight years in Napoleon and Samantha. Since her debut, Foster has acted in more than 40 films.
Jodie made her directorial debut in motion pictures in 1991 with Little Man Tat. She started producing films from 1994, under the banner of Egg Pictures. Her latest film, The Beaver starring Mel Gibson was released last year.
The Golden Globes ceremony would be held in January 2013, in Beverly Hills.
