“We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced,” a statement from Warner Bros. reads, first made public in the Hollywood Reporter. “While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in the marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through. We will continue to deliver top-quality shows throughout the summer (his show will still be on the air till summer of 2013).”
It seems the “hard times” have hit Anderson as well, but he is taking it rather stoically, not tweeting about it, and of course he still has his other show, CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.”
He did release a statement through his show reps, however, “I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons. I am also grateful to Telepictures [the syndicated arm of Warner Bros. that manages his show] for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and through I’m sorry we won’t be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it.”
Getting two seasons on syndicated television is a great accomplishment for anybody, and he has his other series to fall back on in the meantime.
