Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor said on Wednesday that he did pay for sex with a “very, very pretty” prostitute back in 2010. At the same time, he denied claims that he ignored obvious signs that the girl was a teen runaway. During his civil trial, a jury was told by Taylor that he does have a history of hiring females for ‘company’ when he was on the road. He also said that he did not expect them to have sex with him automatically, according to the Associated Press.
“I still like the chase,” Taylor testified. “I like to stack the odds in my favor. … I don’t like to work too hard.”
Taylor was arrested in 2010 for having sex with a 16-year-old girl in a Montebello hotel room. He is currently serving a six-month probation sentence since he pled guilty in 2011 to misdemeanor charges of sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute. The girl, now 19, has been identified as Cristina Fierro. She said that her abusive pimp forced her to have sex with Taylor for $300. Taylor was sued in federal court by Fierro. She said that Taylor should be held accountable for what happened. The man who forced Fierro to have sex with Taylor was arrested upon returning home that same day.
Fierro, from Brooklyn, testified on Wednesday that Taylor refused to stop having sex with her even though she said it hurt and tried to push him off of her. “I kept telling him I didn’t want to be there,” she said. “He’s much bigger than me. I couldn’t do anything.”
According to Taylor, he was respctful of Fierro and she told him she was 19 and Dominican. “I thought she was very, very pretty,” he said. “I thought she was a cute girl. … I thought she was very sexy.” Taylor testified that he attempted to perform oral sex on Fierro but he stopped because she resisted. He said he stopped “because a lot of island girls don’t like that.” He then said that after that one incident, “She didn’t seem to have a problem. She didn’t tell me to stop.”
According to Taylor’s lawyer, Arthur Aidala, the lawsuit has been described as a ‘money grab’ because of his fame. Taylor resides in Broward County, Florida. He helped the Giants win Super Bowl titles in 1987 and 1991. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and was named to the NFL’s 75th Anniversary All-Time Team. Taylor was due to appear in court again on Thursday to continue his testimony.
