Chevy Chase Uses N-Word on Set of Community

Yet again Chevy Chase is the center of a problem for the television show “Community” on NBC. Last year, Chase was involved in an argument with Dan Harmon and Harmon was fired after he leaked a voicemail from Chase. Now, Chase has issued an apology to the cast of the show for using the n-word on the set of the sitcom.

According to various reports, Chase was not happy with lines he was being fed on the set. Those lines were bigoted and intended for his character, Pierce Hawthorne. Chase was so upset with the lines that he even said that at some point he guesses his character will have to call black actors the n-word.

A report from Deadline said that Chase did not use the word in direct relation to his African-American cast mates Yvette Nicole or Donald Glover. Production had to be paused after the incident because Chase was so incensed with his lines. He has made it clear in the past that he is not happy with the show. Chase has even said that joining the show was ‘a mistake.’ He also said that he does not think it is a funny show either.

Chase has gone on to say that he is too funny for the character he is playing. “I’ve been too funny in my life to have to play a character who’s … moderately funny.”
