Sunday… Smatterings?

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a good weekend. I don’t really have any kind of cohesive post for today, so it’s going to be a little more like a Thursday Thoughts post… Work for you? Okay good.

1. My brother and sister-in-law road-tripped it to Springfield this weekend, which means… THEY TOOK MOLLY. No Molly time for me = sad Katie. Molly was also a little bored in the car:

2. This is how Molly napped a year ago in the car:

3. When I was on my run the other day, I ran through the zoo. I stopped at this very wise looking cat and asked if it would tell me what I should do with my life. Needless to say it didn’t answer and then walked away. Unhelpful.

4. Apparently summer is officially over on the Chicago Lakefront. Luckily some of the water fountains are still functioning. It’s a bad day when I head out for a long run and discover they are all turned off…

5. Yesterday I went to go see Chelsey for some FRO YO! Unfortunately the man with all his crazy zero-fat claims was not there. I was so excited after Tina’s amazing description. The yogurt was alright (many flavors tasted very artificial and icy, so I can believe the zero fat thing, but the kiwi I got was good!), but the company was why I went!

6. On the way to see Chelsey I planned to take the L out to the suburbs where she’d pick me up. This was a bad plan all around as it took twice as long for us to go get froyo than it would have if I’d been able to drive out there. Also, I was waiting for the pink line (which is supposed to run every 12 minutes) and this is what I saw:

I was late…

7. While I was down in the Jackson Red Line stop after coming back to the city, I heard a couple guys playing music. They were pretty good, but they were the weirdest pair. I wondered where they found each other… (and yes, I so gave them a dollar).

8. Have a great weekend!

Have you ever heard/seen a street (or subway) performance?

Do you get bored on road trips like Molly? I love them!

I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
