Philadelphia Wedding Parties Brawl at Hotel

The wedding between Nicole Sannuti and Michael Sofka took place this past weekend at the Sheraton in Society Hill in Philadelphia. This was not your normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill wedding though. It turned into one of the most embarrassing brawls you will ever see and we have embedded a video of the incident in this post.

The wedding took place on Sunday and the brawl involved two different wedding parties. The result of the brawl was that Sannuti’s uncle died from a heart attack and a family member of Sofka was arrested. There were anywhere from 50 to 100 people involved in the brawl, which police say was caused by alcohol.

Lt. Ray Evers, a spokesman for the police, said that they still do not know what exactly caused the fight.

“I don’t have a solid answer how it started,” he said, “but we had to come in and clean it up.”

According to guests staying at the hotel, anywhere from 50 to 100 police officers responded to the brawl to restore order but some of the partiers decided to fight back against officers. One guest, who became combative with police, is seen being hit multiple times with a baton by an officer in the video. That man, identified as Matthew Sofka, also had a stun gun fired at him. Matthew Sofka was arrested and charged with assault on police, inciting a riot and related offenses.

Evers has said that more people will be arrested after witnesses and responding police officers are interviewed about the incident. Evers also said that officers have been studying security footage of the brawl.
