Roetzel Adds Six Attorneys to its Chicago Office

Roetzel & Andress announced on October 1 that it has added six more attorneys to its Chicago office, strengthening the services of the law firm offered to the financial industry throughout the Midwest. The attorneys joining Roetzel’s office in Chicago include three partners and three associates. The three partners are Benjamin P. Shapiro, Mark D. Belongia and Richard K. Hellerman, while the three associates are Harry O. Channon, Pierre Cristache and John J. Tufano, Jr.

Jeffrey J. Casto, the Chairman and CEO of Roetzel said “We are extremely fortunate to be able to expand our footprint in Chicago with the addition of these very talented attorneys … (their) broad-based experience, with particular depth in litigation, regulatory and transactional work, is a great addition to our firm. Casto stressed that the addition of new talent was in line with the firm’s long-term strategic goals and efforts to “continue meeting and exceeding our clients’ legal and business needs in our complex economy.” Casto also said that the law firm is on the lookout for seasoned attorneys with entrepreneurial spirits in Chicago and related markets.

Of the three new partners, Belongia is a well-known litigator in banking and commercial law; Shapiro is a leading bank lawyer with a stellar resume including service as the head of the bank regulatory practice group at Sidley & Austin, and Hellerman is a trial lawyer relied upon by Fortune 500 clients in the areas of commercial, product liability, torts, employment, bankruptcy and tax-litigation issues involving attorney-client privilege and tax shelter.
