Dead Deer Found in Chinese Restaurant Kitchen

According to reports, a dead deer was found inside the kitchen of a Kentucky Chinese restaurant. The restaurant, Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg, has been closed since the discovery. The deer was discovered by customers, who saw it shoved inside a trash can that had been dragged into the kitchen.

“It was really disturbing. There was actually a blood trail that they were mopping up behind the garbage can,” one customer said. “There was like a tail, and like a foot and leg sticking out of the garbage can and they wheeled it straight back into the kitchen.”

Paul Lawson, an environmental health inspector, was called in for the investigation. Lawson said that it was “the craziest thing he’s ever seen” when he entered the kitchen. “Upon arrival, I confirmed they did have a deer carcass in the facility,” he said. Lawson also said that the deer was previously gutted.

Investigators working the case said that the son of the owner brought the deer to the restaurant after it was found dead on Interstate 75. The son brought the deer “into the kitchen of the restaurant in order to clean and dress it,” according to reports.

The restaurant will be permitted to reopen so long as it passes inspection and is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
