Pat Robertson Tells Viewer to Beat Wife after Converting to a Muslim

Pat Robertson is at it again, making an offensive and rude comment on his television program. You can see the video, which is embedded in this post. Robertson has targeted people suffering from Alzheimer’s, homosexuals, atheists, adoptive parents, feminists, pagans, people who do not pray and Haitians on his show in the past. This time, Robertson has targeted wives who do not obey their husbands.

Robertson’s show is ‘The 700 Club.’ On the Monday edition of the show, Robertson answered a question from a viewer who was identified only as Michael. Michael asked Robertson how he can fix his marriage to his wife, who “has no respect for me as the head of the house.”

Robertson said to Michael, “Well, you could become a Muslim and you could beat her.” The co-host of Robertson, Terry Meeuwsen, laughed when Robertson gave that piece of advice. Robertson decided to continue with more comments. “I don’t think we condone wife-beating these days but something has got to be done to make her.”

Robertson decided to call the woman in question a ‘rebellious child’ who does not want to ‘submit to any authority.’  The Scripture does not permit divorce, so Robertson told Michael to move to Saudi Arabia. There, Michael would be allowed to beat his wife.
