Simon Cowell Calls out ‘The Voice’

NBC is in hot water with Simon Cowell for adding an installment of ‘The Voice’ on Wednesday, which is when ‘X Factor’ is scheduled for its season premiere. Cowell said, “This is a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business.” In an exclusive with TMZ, Cowell said that he swore he had a “gentleman’s agreement” the network. That agreement was that ‘The Voice’ would air on Mondays and Tuesdays each week and that ‘X Factor’ would air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on FOX.  This would allow fans of both shows to watch without conflict.

Cowell has said that NBC is forcing its audience to choose between the show with Christina Aguilera and the show with Britney Spears, who is making her debut with ‘X Factor.’ Cowell then said, “Britney’s not going to appreciate the fact that Christina — who has been a bit of a rival — isn’t allowing Britney to have a night of her own.”

Cowell told TMZ that the added show on Wednesday is a personal attack because ‘The Voice’ went to England television and got defeated mightily in the ratings by ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ Cowell’s show. “These guys have really got it in for us. It’s nothing short of dirty tricks.”

“The reason they’ve done this is they don’t want people to see ‘X Factor’ because they’ve heard how good the series is. They don’t want their audience to see Britney Spears. They don’t want their audience to see Demi Lovato.”

Cowell has said that he does not think Spears knows of the added episode on Wednesday but said she will be upset when she finds out. “She’s going to be devastated because she’s put her heart and soul into this.” Cowell has said that he is not scared in the least bit either. “I can’t bear it that the network is playing political games and playing with the audience.”
