One of the photos shows Harry covering his genitals with his hands with a naked woman hiding behind his back, and the other photo shows the Prince of Britain clinging naked to the back of a naked woman.
According to TMZ, Harry had invited the women from the hotel bar to their VIP suit and according to official explanation, Harry was playing a strip game at a pool table. The women were not identified. The prince is on a private holiday with friends.
A spokesman for the prince said, “We are not commenting specifically on the photos.” However, a royal source has confirmed to Reuters that the two photos published on TMZ were of Prince Harry.
Royal author Robert Jobson told Reuters, “He’s been doing a lot of good work for the queen and getting a good reputation …” We agree.
Jobson further added, “although a lot of people think this is a great laugh, it does actually bring the monarchy into disrepute and will embarrass the queen.”
Harry is the second son of Britain’s Prince Charles and his late ex-wife Princess Diana. He admitted in 2002 to under-age drinking and using marijuana. In 2005, he made headlines by wearing a Nazi uniform to a costume party. He also served in the army in Afghanistan four years ago.
Jobson, the royal author had the most balanced opinion on the issue: “He’s a single guy, he’s enjoying himself, but it’s all about the reputation of the royal family. Everyone might say he’s a cool guy, but it’s not all about being a cool guy if you’re third in line to the throne.”
Newspapers in UK have been warned by the royal family not to publish the nude photographs of the prince. However, on Wednesday, Clarence House confirmed to AFP that the images were genuine, which is a rare confirmation. On Thursday, Britain’s newspapers followed the request of the royal family.
