Marc Summers Suffers Broken Facial Bones in Car Accident

Marc Summers reached out to TMZ to inform the media outlet that he was in a serious car accident in Philadelphia last week. As a result of the accident, Summers broke multiple bones in his face and needed surgery. Summers was the host of “Double Dare” and now hosts “Unwrapped” on the Food Network. Summers told TMZ that he does not remember enough about the car accident. All he knows is that he was the passenger in the back seat of a cab. The cab hydroplaned and lost control.

Summers told TMZ that he was told he was thrown from his seat in the cab and hit the partition in the cab with his face. When he hit the partition Summers broke multiple bones. Doctors at a local Philadelphia hospital had to perform emergency plastic surgery to repair his face. Summers also told TMZ that he has been released from the hospital and is back home resting in Philadelphia. “I’m all good … just in a lot of pain.”

Summers said that since the accident, his friends from the Food Network have been cooking him excellent meals and coming to visit him. Those friends include Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Michael Symon. There is one major problem though, Summers is struggling to open his mouth as a result of the surgery. He also is having trouble chewing the food so he has been placed on a soft food diet.
