Chad Johnson Has VH1 Show Canceled after Domestic Abuse Arrest

Over the past four days, NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested, was released by the Miami Dolphins and had his TV show canceled. Johnson was arrested on Saturday in a domestic dispute case involving his wife, Evelyn Lozada. Johnson reportedly head-butted his wife during the incident. Lozada even ran to a neighbor’s house because she was scared of Johnson. The reality show, “Ev and Ocho,” was canceled by VH1 this week. The couple has been married for two months and was going to document their romance and wedding on the show.

The fight occurred when Lozada discovered a receipt for condoms in Johnson’s truck. She confronted him and he began yelling and cursing at her. Johnson was released by the Dolphins on Sunday night, not 24 hours after being arrested. Lozada stars on the reality show “Basketball Wives” and their new show was going to be a spinoff. It was scheduled to premiere on September 3.

”It wasn’t about one specific thing. It just wasn’t going to work,” Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said. ”It didn’t feel like to me that this fit was going to be right for us as an organization, or for Chad. It was time to move on. It wasn’t done to send a message. It was done because it just didn’t feel right.”
